We are a Grade 5 class from Brisdale Public School in Brampton, Ontario. We are the oldest students in French Immersion at our school and rearranged an Indigenous song called “The Unforgotten”. We included xylophones and drums to add a cultural element to our arrangement. We clapped our hands to match the beat of the music, and raised and lowered our hands to make a connection to the spiritual beliefs of the Indigenous people. We believe this song showcases our vocal and musical talent. We worked extremely hard and supported one another throughout the process. We are very proud to represent all elementary students in Brampton and across Canada. We tried our best and are grateful to have be given this opportunity.
