Join a dynamic team of forestry management professionals contributing to Integrated and Ecosystem Based Management on beautiful Haida Gwaii
With a solid working knowledge of a broad range of stewardship, revenue and resource values, you contribute to the district Stewardship and Revenue sections through your oversight of the stewardship monitoring, silviculture, timber cruising and waste assessment programs.
As the District Stewardship Forester with Revenue responsibilities, you provide professional advice related to a broad and complex range of forest stewardship issues, policy, standards and management practices. Based in ?The Village of Queen Charlotte, you are required to work in remote field locations as well as in the office, all within a professional integrated team with the Haida Nation in a dynamic and challenging environment. You are a creative self-starter and willing to take calculated risks. As an effective communicator, you work well with First Nations, clients and stakeholders, both external and internal.

In order to be considered for this position, your application (resume and cover letter) must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Bachelor of Science in Forestry or Natural Resource Management and 5 years of current (gained over the last 7 years) and directly related forestry experience.?OR the equivalent combination of experience and education such as, the pupil program and 5 years of experience;
- Registered, or immediately eligible for registration,?as a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of BC Forest Professionals.
- Directly related forestry experience includes operational experience in integrated resource management, cruising, waste assessment, timber harvesting, stewardship plans and silviculture practices;
- Experience in consulting with stakeholders and First Nations and a demonstrated knowledge of multidisciplinary issues involved in natural resource management on Haida Gwaii;
Please include your registration number with the?Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) within your application?as you must be registered or immediately eligible for registration as a fully licensed Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with the ABCFP. If you are not yet registered with the ABCFP, please explain how you are immediately eligible (i.e. currently a fully licensed RPF member in good standing in another Canadian jurisdiction and can immediately transfer to?the?ABCFP).
