There are 2 Director positions available; Director, Teaching Universities, Institutes and Learner Transitions and Director, Colleges and Community Access.

The Post-Secondary Policy and Programs and Division Responsible for Learner Supports enables an innovative, high- quality, accessible post-secondary education system by supporting institutions – as partners – to provide students with the best post-secondary education experience possible and assisting British Columbians who seek access to this system with flexible and appropriate financial tools and supports.

The Director leads and directs the development, implementation and evaluation of a number of post-secondary system-wide policy initiatives, such as co-operative education and work integrated learning, future of education, student transitions, dual credit, open education resources, libraries, and rural access and sustainability. The Director also leads/oversees the implementation of ministry and corporate strategies as they relate to BC’s public post-secondary institutions. This position develops strategic and collaborative partnerships with post-secondary partners and across government to achieve desired objectives.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Education or another related area and a minimum of 5 years recent, related senior level experience including:
    – policy, program development and implementation,
    – project management,
    – strategic planning,
    – issues management,
    –?developing positive relationships with stakeholders with diverse needs, interests and mandates.
  • Minimum one year experience leading, coaching and supervising staff and/or large, long-term project teams.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with recent, related experience in the post-secondary education sector.
