Working within the Compliance and Enforcement Branch of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (EMPR), the Compliance Analyst coordinates compliance planning, issues and data management for 200+ permitted major and high profile regional mines sites across BC. The position works closely with mines inspectors and investigators, project management staff, training and staff development inspector, and digital services staff within EMPR. This position liaises with staff responsible for compliance analysis and reporting in other natural resource ministries. The incumbent must have highly developed critical thinking, analysis, communication, interpersonal and project management skills.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. business administration, public administration, natural resource management) AND minimum 1 year experience in resource management related to one of the following areas: mining, forestry, energy, ecosystem conservation, parks and public recreation, land management, or resource allocation; OR
- Technical diploma in a related field (e.g. business administration, public administration, natural resource management) AND minimum 3 years experience in resource management related to one of the following areas: mining, forestry, energy, ecosystem conservation, parks and public recreation, land management, or resource allocation.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Experience managing projects and/or project components.
- Experience conducting policy or business analysis in mining.
- Experience conducting policy or business analysis relating to land use or natural resource management.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and with Indigenous communities.
